Dyspareunia/
Vaginismus
Dyspareunia is defined as persistent or recurrent genital pain that occurs just before, during or after intercourse.
Vaginismus, a common cause of dyspareunia, is when the vaginal muscles involuntary tighten when penetration is attempted. This makes it painful and difficult to enjoy a healthy sexual relationship.
There are a number of reasons, including medical conditions and medication that may be contributing to this issue and we recommend you speak with your physician first to rule out any potential conditions.
Stress and anxiety are leading causes for Vaginismus. Relationship issues, and trauma can also play an important factor.
If no medical condition exists, you may consider our holistic approach.
